It all started when I felt a lump – and boy did it shake my world. Fast forward eighteen months, and here I am, getting ready to lace up my running shoes for a cause that's not just close to my heart, but to my chest—quite literally!
I’m a proud survivor of triple-negative breast cancer, I have battled through enough chemo rounds to fill a pharmacy and enough radiation to light up the night sky. Now, I've overcome it - and I have more fire and determination to tackle it head-on!
Enter Lumpbusters! We're the Ghostbusters of the cancer world, except instead of proton packs, we're armed with determination, running shoes, and sweat to crush those cancer lumps. Right now, Lumpbusters consists of myself, my cancer researcher brother-in-law, Klaas, and our most recent recruit (and the love of my life): Maarten!
He has just started his solo ‘End to End’ walk across the UK. After starting in Land’s End he aims to reach John ‘o Groats after about 2000km. So, he'll do that and Klaas and I will run the LoveLife Run in Amsterdam. Together, we are walking and running to raise funds for cancer research!
