Spin for Life

On April 2nd I will be taking part in Spin for Life, the Netherlands’ spinning marathon held at DeFabrique in Utrecht. During this special event, the venue transforms for six hours into a space filled with sport, music, determination, and community. Hundreds of participants will get on their bikes and keep the energy high together, all with one shared goal: raising money for cancer research.

For me, this event is deeply personal.

A few years ago, my mum fought cancer. Watching someone you love go through that battle changes how you see life. It shows you how strong people can be, but it also shows how important better treatments and research are.

I have also lost a friend to cancer, and that loss is something that stays with you. Every day we hear about someone else — a friend, a colleague, a family member — who is facing this disease. It reminds us that cancer touches almost everyone in some way.

That is why I’m joining Spin for Life. Every kilometer we cycle represents hope — hope for better treatments, better medications, and ultimately better chances for people who are fighting this disease today and in the future.

All funds raised during the event will go toward research aimed at discovering improved treatments and new solutions in the fight against cancer. Research is what turns hope into progress.
