Hi, my name is Mahi and I am 11 years old. I am in the NJMT dance academy and theater academy.
Musical Fight for Cancer is very personal to me. I am dancing for my grandmother, my naani-ma, my most important person in the whole world. She has had breast cancer twice and now for the third time, which she has been living with for 8 years. It is not curable.
I also know many others with cancer.
Friends of my mother lost their daughter to neuroblastoma last year, after a 6 year battle.
A 16-year-old boy at my school died of cancer and a 6 year old girl is being treated for a tumor since last year.
We also know family friends in India, whose then 2 year old daughter was diagnosed with neuroblastoma with little chance of survival, but yet now, is in remission and almost turning 5.
And this is because of all the research and new treatments being developed.
With help from all of you.
This is why I am participating in Musical Fight for Cancer.
Dancing to fight cancer is very motivating.
Thank you to the entire NJMT and Fight to Cancer team for arranging this. Ashley, my dance teacher, already does a lot but still makes time for this.
I hope we can meet more than our goal.
I dance for my grandmother.
I dance for all the parents & children who are dealing with this.
I dance for all the family members who have lost someone to cancer.
I dance against cancer.
I dance for the Musical Fight to Cancer.

Sunday 10 maartHoi, ik ben Mahi en ik ben 11 jaar oud. Ik zit bij de NJMT dance academie en theater academie.
Musical Fight for Cancer is heeel persoonlijk voor mij. Ik dans voor mijn oma, mijn naani-ma, mijn allerliefste persoon in de hele wereld. Zij heeft 2 keer borstkanker gehad en nu voor de derde keer, waar ze al 8 jaar mee leeft. Het is niet te genezen.
Ik ken ook vele anderen met kanker.
Vrienden van mijn moeder hebben afgelopen jaar hun dochter verloren aan neuroblastoma, na een 6 jaar gevecht.
Een 16 jarige jongen op mijn school is aan kanker overleden.
Een 6 jarige meisje wordt sinds vorig jaar voor een tumor behandeld.
We kennen ook familie vrienden in India, wiens toen 2 jarige dochter neuroblastoma met weinig overlevingskans had, maar nu toch, in remissie is en bijna 5 wordt.
En dit komt vanwege al het onderzoek en nieuwe behandelingen die ontwikkeld worden.
Met hulp van jullie allemaal.
Daarom doe ik mee aan Musical Fight for Cancer.
Dansen om kanker te bestrijden is heel motiverend.
Dank je wel aan de hele NJMT en Fight to Cancer team om dit te regelen. Ashley, mijn dans docent, doet al heel veel maar toch maakt maakt ze tijd hiervoor.
Ik hoop dat we meer dan ons doel kunnen halen.
Ik dans voor mijn oma.
Ik dans voor alle ouders & kinderen die je hier mee te maken hebben.
Ik dans voor alle familieleden die iemand aan kanker hebben verloren.
Ik dans tegen kanker.
Ik dans voor de Musical Fight to Cancer.
